Anna Marie Welch, 68, of Knoxville Tennessee, passed away on March 15, 2023. She was born on May 12, 1954 to the late Charles and Ann  (Rogers) Estep in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Estep, and her in-laws Jack and Muriel Welch.

After moving to Libertyville, Illinois as a child, she graduated from Libertyville high school and attended Illinois State University and earned a bachelor degree in Education. Her passion for teaching and her love of math inspired many students throughout her career to achieve their best. Her hobby in sewing was her true passion that she was eager to share with anyone willing to learn. She gave her time to teach friends, family and strangers and really inspired a lot of people to take up sewing. She also donated various stuffed animals, scarves, blankets that she donated to local hospice and charities. Anna Welch was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by many lives she touched.

Anna is survived by her husband Thomas Welch, her sons Brian (Sarah) Garven and Aaron Garven, sister Lee (Walter) Bilharz, grandchildren, Claire, Ethan, and Brooke Garven, stepdaughter Kimberly (Scott) Lambert, grandchildren, Avery, Belle, and Blythe Lambert. In addition, many cousins and nieces and nephews who loved and cared for her.

Calling of Friends will be held in the chapel at Woodhaven Funeral Home, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell, TN on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 1-3 PM.
