April Elizabeth Hunt Phillips , 49, passed away unexpectedly on August 9, 2021 after a short illness.  She is survived by her parents-Roy Joe Hunt and Mary Elizabeth Pitts Hunt-three children: Corrin Elizabeth Phillips Mottern and husband, Logan Mottern; Mikayla Briann Phillips and fiancé, Cody Powers; and Zachary Tanner Phillips-two sisters: Mary Michelle Hunt Harrelson and husband, Tim Harrelson; Virginia Annette Hunt Brock and husband, Juan Garcias Martinez- several nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

April graduated from Karns High School, where she was a flag member in the marching band.  She earned a degree in Criminal Justice from Ashford College.  She loved her children dearly and devoted her time to all their activities as they grew up.   She enjoyed and excelled in all things creative and was especially gifted in singing, dancing, painting, and arts & crafts.  During most of her adult life, she struggled with health issues, but believed firmly in the sayings, "What does not kill you makes you stronger" and "This too shall pass."  April was admired by all who knew her for her indomitable strength and courage; she will be greatly missed by her circle of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4 PM – 6 PM on August 12, 2021 at Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church in Karns (7753 Oak Ridge Hwy), with services to follow immediately afterward.  Interment will be on August 13 at 11 AM at Woodhaven Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens in Powell (160 Edgemoor Road).  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Beaver Ridge Methodist Church.
