Bailey, Arthur Lewis, age 73, of Powell, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Mercy Residential Hospice. Mr. Bailey was a member of Dante Baptist Church where he served as Deacon; served with the United States Air Force; served on B of D Searles Lake Credit Union for 18 years; member of Masonic Lodge for over 30 years; served on Community Chest as Volunteer for 10 years; member of Eastern Star for over 29 years; would like to be remembered as having been ordained as a Deacon at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church on October 1, 2000. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Walter and Ruth Netta Bryant Bailey; nephew, John William Bailey. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Lois Ann Bailey of Powell; daughters, LeeAnn and husband Chris Smith of Ridgecrest, CA, Netta Jeane and husband Thomas Fortney of Arlington, TN; grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Chelsea Smith, Travis Fortney, Cater Fortney; brother, Barry Bailey of Webb City, MO; sister, Sharon Mulroy, Liberty, MO; nephew, Matthew Nichols; niece, Cindy Bailey. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Judy Moore for her wonderful care and love she showed to Arthur. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday, June 20, at Dante Baptist Church with funeral service to follow at 8 pm with Rev. Phillip Murphy, officiating. Interment will be Monday, June 21, at 11:00 am at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens, with full military honors provide by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
