Wright, Asbury Clarence, age 84, of Powell passed away Tuesday, June 8, at Mercy Residential Hospice. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Powell, where he served as deacon and teacher; served with the US Navy during World War II, member of Gideon International and life member of Pioneers. He retired after 41 years with South Central Bell. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Alan Wright; parents, James C. and Mary Louise Young Wright; brother, James A. Wright; sister, Mary Louise Felker. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna B. Wright; sons, Richard A Wright and wife Debbie, David Wright and wife Jan; daughters, Ginger Wright, Wilma Crenshaw and husband Mike, Edna Zellmer and husband Gary; grandchildren, John Powers, Angie Miller, Joseph Wright, Elisha Smith, Eric Quillen, Chrissy King, Logan Zellmer, Betty Ann Wright, Cassandra Wright, Michael Crenshaw, Jr; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Lytle and husband Alvin. Several nieces and nephews and many other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Friday, June 11, at First Baptist Church of Powell with funeral service at 7pm with Rev. Phil Jones and Rev. Jim Waddell, officiating. Graveside service will be Saturday, June 12, at 10am at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
