Shepherd, Beatrice Thomas, age 98, passed away peacefully into Heaven Sunday, September 21, 2014. She was a loving mother and grandmother (mamaw). Bea was a long time member of Oakwood Baptist Church. She was born in Walland, TN to Eli Thomas and Laura Waters Thomas. She is preceded in death by her husband William Floyd Shepherd; four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by sons and daughter-in-laws Gene Shepherd and wife Jama, Jerry Shepherd and wife Margaret, Gary Shepherd and wife Linda; grandchildren Regenia Shepherd, Renee'' and Robert Lee, Rhonda and Kevin McCusker, Tim and Renee Shepherd, Andrea and Frank Martillotti, Stephanie and Paul Shamiyeh; great grandchildren David Lee, Olivia and Liam McCusker, Heatherly and Daniel Shepherd, Nick and Ava Martillotti, Jordan and Hollie Shamiyeh, several nieces and nephews. Bea''s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of NHC Knoxville. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Woodhaven Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 11:00am in Woodhaven Memorial Gardens, garden of Everlasting Life. Service will be officiated by Dr. Charles Jenkins. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Oakwood Baptist Church, 111 E. Columbia Ave., Knoxville, TN 37917.
