BRENDA FAYE MATHIS, age 76, passed from this world into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ on January 27, 2023.

Brenda was born on February 4, 1946, to her parents, John Overton and Myrtle (Hammer) Overton, who preceded her in death, along with her sisters, Bobbie Searcy and Helen Seymour, and brothers David Rader and R.L. Rader.

Brenda enjoyed a long career in fine jewelry, most recently with Pardon's Jewelers, where she enjoyed meeting and serving many people – with several becoming lifelong friends.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband of nearly forty years, James A. Mathis, children, Jon Monroe, Jennifer Monroe McDaniel, Tommy Mathis (Debbie), Terry Mathis (Angela), Tonya Evans (Jason), and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  And lest we forget Brenda's beloved chihuahuas, Sammy and Scooter.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 4-7pm with a funeral service to follow at Woodhaven Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens.  Reverend Kent Williams officiating.

A private burial will take place at a later time.
