Sparks, Charles A. ( Charlie), age 84, of Powell, passed away Tuesday April 22, 2014. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Masonic Lodge, Burlington #763. Mr. Sparks is a Navy veteran and served on the USS Howard W. Gilmore. He was employed for 35 plus years for Martin Marietta Y-12, K25. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Charlie had a great love for his family, he was a devoted husband and father. Mr. Sparks is preceded in death by his parents; John and Ruth Sparks, Brother; Bill Sparks. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years; Jean Sparks, Son; Michael Sparks and wife Sandra, Daughters; Kim and husband Keith Napier, Sally and husband Bob Pedigo, Grandchildren; Misty Doucet, Eric Napier, Cody Napier, Brothers; Tom Sparks and wife Sue, Doug Sparks and wife Betty Sue, Sisters; Kathryn Alexander, Shirley and Husband Johnnie Scruggs, Serveral nieces and nephews. Receiving of friends will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Woodhaven Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00pm - 7:30 pm with funeral service to follow.
