Charles Scott Francis, age 96, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on January 26,2026. Born on May 6,1929, Charles was a lifelone Knoxvillian who lived a life defined by service, dedication, and family.
He proudly served in the United States Navy. Following his military service, Charles built a long and respected career with Rohm + Haas, where he worked until his retirement.
Charles had a deep passion for trap and skeet shooting and spent many years competing in events, a hobby that brought him great joy and lifelong friendships.
He is survived by his son and wife; David and Jennifer Francis, and daughter; Connie Rist, and his beloved grandchildren; Jill Cogburn, Emily Fernandez, Brady Francis, and Karli Pritchard.
Charles will be laid to rest at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery. He will be remembered for his steady strength, patriotic spirit, and the lasting legacy of love he leaves with his family.
