Christopher Charles Horning, 38, passed Thursday, August 18, 2016. He loved to spend time with his children, family & pets and play on the computer and with sound systems. Chris worked for many years as a dispatcher for ADT. He was a son, husband, father, cousin, and loyal friend.
He is preceded by his sister Kara Ann Horning, of Powell, TN; his grandparents, Adelbert & Ruby Mai Long; and Walter & Katherine Horning; and his Uncle Richard Eugene Long, all from Titusville, FL.
Chris is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Missy; their children, Kenny and Kara; his loving parents, Douglas & Deborah Horning; his uncles, Kevin (Rhona) Horning of Mims, FL, and Alan (Dena) Long and their daughter Jessica of Cookeville, TN; his Aunt Barbara Hensley, of Titusville, FL and her two children, Frank J. (Stephanie) Hensley, of Enterprise, AL, and Rebecca (Brad) Stoffer, of Gulf Breeze, FL; all his in-laws including, parents John & Brenda Hollingshead; sister-in-law Tanya (David) Williams; and nieces & nephews, Hannah (Josh) Coleman, Dawson Williams and Zoe Williams; his best friends Danny Crunk and Josh Thompson; and beloved dog, Marlin.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff of Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, especially Dr. Thompson, of The Thompson Cancer Survivor Center, for all the special care and support given to Chris and the family.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 10am to 12pm with a service to follow at Woodhaven Funeral Home, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell, TN 37849. Graveside service will follow immediately at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. Mike Walker will be officiating the service.
