Childress, Clifton John, age 81, of Powell passed away at the home on Monday, March 15, 2010. Loved being a "Papaw" and enjoyed his weekend running buddies, Chrissy and Cody and gardening. Clifton is preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Minnie McFarland Childress; daughter, Helen; son, Don; grandson, Michael; several brothers and sisters. He is survived by sons, Marvin, Butch and Kevin and wife Angela; daughters, Barbara Vann, Sandy and husband Kenny Henderson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Earl and wife Gladys Childress. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, March 18, at Woodhaven Funeral Home Chapel. Family will gather at Oak Ridge Memorial Park for graveside services at 1pm Friday, March 19 with Rev. Sammy Thomas, officiating.
