IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dakota Talon
Qualls
April 15, 1997 – October 19, 2024
Dakota Legend Talon Lee Storm Qualls, 27, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
Dakota, affectionately known as Kody or Talon, depending on who you're talking to, was born April 15, 1997 in Oak Ridge, TN, the son of Ronnie Lee Qualls and Theresa Jo Dean Wright.
Dakota deeply loved the outdoors; camping, hiking and building bonfires with his communities. Some of his greatest joys were baking, cooking and feeding those same communities. Dakota believed strongly in human rights and was outspoken and protective of those in marginalized communities, especially the LGBTQ+ cause. To know him was to know that you were loved, and we loved him fully in return. His smile and spirit live on in our hearts.
Dakota was preceded in passing by his grandparents Thurman "Tubby" Qualls and Joan Qualls, Betty Chamberlain and Gordon Chamberlain, Joyce Marcell and Joseph Wright, Uncle James Earls, and Cousin Maggie Bleu Wright.
Remaining to cherish Dakota's memory are Parents: Ronnie Qualls and Theresa "Jodi" Wright, Brother: Conrad Freedom Qualls, Sister: Miriah Qualls, Brother: Joseph Wright Sister: Keisha (Nick) Stamm and Sister: Amy(Jason) Stockton Aunt and Uncles: Donna Wright, Kim (Mark) Bartley, Tony (Tara) Wright, Donna Earls, Thomas (June) Qualls along with multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom he loved very much.
Donations in Dakota's memory may be directed to The National Park Services, East Tennessee Harm Reduction, SoKno Pride and The Pilot Light
