Denver gave his heart to Jesus at the Clinton Church of God where he faithfully attended for over 50 years. That decision would leave a legacy upon his family. In that church he met the Love of his life, Mary Jo House. They were married on December 16, 1956, and together have raised six biological children and one great-granddaughter. Denver loved the Church and helped design and build the Clinton Church of God with former pastor Dewayne Greene. Denver and Mary Jo enjoyed traveling and belonged to a traveling camper club. Denver was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons. He loved and was beloved by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was so proud of his large family and would often offer words of guidance or encouragement.
The family would like to thank the Hospice Nurses who cared for Denver and his special nurse Valerie Dugger who cared for him for over two years.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 5th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Clinton Church of God. Pastors Curtis Akers and Doug Hill will officiate. Burial will be on Friday, September 6th at Overton Cemetery in Heiskell. Woodhaven Funeral Home, Claxton is in charge of arrangements.
