Eddie J. Laws, 73, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 16, 2016. Eddie was a graduate of Powell High School, Class 60. . He was well known and loved by many. Eddie was a Marine that proudly served our country. He was a member of North Knoxville Baptist Church. Prior to retirement he was a Resin Operator at Rohm Haas. Eddie loved people especially his family and friends. He was known for his warm and loving heart, quick wit and dry sense of humor. Prior to his illness, Eddie enjoyed golfing, traveling, attending Gospel concerts, baseball games, senior outings and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joe & Flora Laws, his son Marty Laws, his sister Sandra Miller; and his special friend Helen Seymour.
Eddie is survived by his children Angie (Chuck) Painter and Rusty Laws; his grandchildren Garrett and Grant Painter, Bailey and Jordan Laws; his brother Glenn Laws; and many friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with a service at 1:30, where Pastor Dennis Blazier will officiate, at Woodhaven Funeral Home, 160 Edgemoor Rd, Powell, TN. Interment will follow the service at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the UT Medical Center staff, Dr. Courtney George, Dr. Jeffery Johnson, and 4th Floor Heart Hospital team. The family is very grateful for all the support from Eddie''s classmates and his Rohm Hass family.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to St. Jude''s Children or the American Heart Association in Eddie''s name.
