Rev. Edwy Bowne , born June 9th 1937, passed April 4th 2023

Edwy is proceeded in death by, his wife Peggy Lorane Bowne, and his son Mark Allen Bowne.  He is survived by his daughter Debborah Ann Whitson, his son Kevin Edward Bowne; his grandson Joshua Allen Whitson; his granddaughter Christina Elisabeth Brune; and his great-granddaughters, Madalyn Elisabeth Bruner, Korey Alexis Bruner, Lily AnnaBelle Bruner, and Hannah Marie Bruner.

Edwy was a reverend at Bishopville Baptist Church before he retired after 15 years of service. Before he was called to preach, Edwy was a supervisor who drove a bread truck for Merita Bread for 30+ years. Born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Edwy joined the Army when he was 19 years old. He met his wife Peggy in high school and they became high school sweethearts before marrying on March 23rd 1958. They eventually moved to TN and started their family.  Edwy was a wonderful father to his sons, Kevin and Mark, and his daughter Debbie, an loving grandfather to Christina and Joshua as well as a doting great-grandfather to four beautiful great-granddaughters.

Edwy loved and enjoyed retirement with his wife Peggy as they traveled the United States for an entire year. When he became a great- grandfather he soaked up every second and was truly an amazing man in the lives of his 4 great-granddaughters.  He will be dearly missed, but we are comforted knowing he lived a blessed life and we all are better people for being able to have him in our lives.
