Ownby, Eunice Garnettie Lawson, age 88, of Claxton, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011 at home. She was born November 8, 1922. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Ownby is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey & Cora Lawson; 1 sister and 5 brothers. She is survived by her sons, Verlas (Stella), Leroy, Larry, Lynn (Karen) Ownby; brother, Clarence Lawson; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday, March 29, at Woodhaven Funeral Home Chapel with funeral service following at 8:00 pm, Brother Leland Mayfield, officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, March 30, at 1:00 pm at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. Grandsons and Great-Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
