Gary Leroy Dyer , age 68, long time resident of Knox County, TN., passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at his residence.  Gary was born September 12, 1950 in Knox County, TN., to Roy and Nellie Elizabeth (Taylor) Dyer.  He was in construction as a pipe excavator and a member of Westside Baptist Church. Mr. Dyer loved fishing and his Tennessee Vols. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret Ruth Dyer; mother-in-law, Dorothy Travis; brother-in-law, John Travis.

He is survived by his wife Vickie Dyer; daughter Amanda Childress; sister, Carolyn  Jones ( fiancé Clyde Wiggins); papaw to; grandson Carter Childress, Jaden Roberts, and Maya Roberts; nephew, Greg Jones; numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews; friends from Hurst Excavation.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 2, 2019, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Woodhaven Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, with the Funeral Service to follow at 8PM.  Graveside service will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 1PM with Josh Green and Dean Braden officiating.
