September 3, 1952 – December 21, 2023
George Walter Arwood, age 71, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, December 21st, 2023. He had very loving parents, and was the sixth son of eleven children. In addition to being a big brother, he was a father figure to many of his siblings. He was married on March 17th, 1971 to his loving wife Theresa for 52 years. He was a jack of all trades, and enjoyed fishing, tinkering, collecting guns, and keeping a perfect lawn. He also liked motorcycles, bluegrass music, the rebel flag, and was extremely organized. But most importantly, he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by parents; Alex and Ruth Arwood, brothers; Ralph, Jack, and Dan Arwood, and sisters; Nancy Packette, and Lois Ellison.
He is survived by his wife; Theresa Arwood, children; Scott (Joe) Arwood, Trenia (Tim) Shipley, and Josh Arwood, siblings; Jerry (Dargie) Arwood, Allen (Rebecca) Arwood, Larry (Candy) Arwood, Mark (Deanna) Arwood, and Donna (Bob) Allen, grandchildren; Tristian (Kate-Lyn) Jilbert, Savannah (Will) Boucher, Shayla Shipley, Kaitlyn Reed, Ryen Arwood, and Alexandrea Arwood, and great grandchildren; Maddison, Elizabeth, Zoey, and one on the way. He loved and was loved by numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 5PM to 7PM Tuesday Dec 26, 2023 at Woodhaven Funeral Home located at 160 Edgemoor Rd. in Powell, with service to follow. Graveside service will be Dec 27, 2023 at 2PM at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to the family. Woodhaven Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of George Arwood.
