Obituary

Golman Phillips, 87, of Huntsville, formally Powell, TN went home to the Lord on Sunday November 15, 2015 while at home surrounded by family. He was an Army veteran that served our country between WWII and Korea. Golman was a machinist for Carbide Carbon for over 30 years. He was of the Baptist faith, loved to boat & fish, and had an ear for music. While he could play any stringed instrument it was his guitar he played the most.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob & Dorothy Phillips; his wife Mary Phillips; his brothers Vaughn Phillips and Gaylon Phillips; and two brother-in-laws Albert "Berlie" Williams and Lonas Childress.
Golman is survived by his brother Darell and wife Leonie Phillips; his two sisters Joyce Williams and Janice Childress; and several nieces and nephews including special nephews David Phillips and Rodney Childress.
The family will receive family and friends between 12:00pm - 1:00pm Wednesday November 18, 2015 with the Funeral Service at 1:00pm at Woodhaven Funeral Home, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell, TN 37849. Interment will follow the funeral service at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens; Franklin Eppinette will officiate.
The family would like to thank the staff at Home Option, Amedysis Hospice and Quality Home Health. They would especially like to thank Cathy, Sherry and Brien for their kindness and care, and to Daniel Phillips for being there to the end.
