Koehler, Grace, loving mother of 4, wife and partner of Gerald Koehler, passed away at age 96. Surviving are sisters, Ethel and Ramona; her children, John, George, Bill and Suzanne; grandkids, John Jr, Robbie and Margaret; great-grandson, Jason. Preceded in death by beloved husband Gerald; parents, Elizabeth and Frank Balas; siblings, Frank, Jr, Arnold, Ed, Irene. She grew up in Connellsville, PA and moved to Cleveland, OH, where she worked with an orphanage, serving through 1986 on the board. Grace and Gerald lived in Toledo, Perrysburg, and Cleveland, OH and Brown County, IN. She moved to Corryton, TN in 2001. She was president of YMCA and YWCA in Toledo, PTAs, Girl and Boy Scout leaders, clubs and worked with the Red Cross. With "Jerry", she was one of the first to make available from a concept into actuality, group life insurance, and created among others, the company Central Reserve Life Insurance achieving recognition in "Who''s Who in American Business". Nicknamed "Amazing Grace", she will be missed greatly. She had great love for life, nature and helped many. Remembered also for kindness, generosity, determination, strength, motivation, and creativity; an active member of churches, sang in choirs all her life with faith. In Knoxville, she attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Catholic Charities, 3009 Lake Brook Blvd., Knoxville, TN 37909. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 22, from 5-7 with service following at 7pm in the Chapel of Woodhaven Funeral Home.
