Gurtie Lee Browning, age 91, of Knoxville, Tn., went to be with her savior on September 24, 2018.  One of eight children, she was born in 1926 in Knoxville, TN. to Charlie and Gladys Weaver.  She was a graduate of Halls High Class of 1944 and a retired employee of H & R Block.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Darius L Browning, and a sister Katherine McFalls.

She is survived by sisters Arlina Adams, Patsy Davis, Wanda Clowers, a brother Charles (Nancy) Weaver, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, September 27, 2018, from 4:00PM until 5:00PM at The Church at Sterchi Hills, where Ms. Browning was a charter member.  Funeral services will follow at 5:00PM with Pastor Joel Dew and Pastor Mike Thompson officiating.  Graveside services will be Friday, September 28, 2018, at 11:00PM at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
