Henry William "Junior" Edsell, 96, of River Oaks Place in Lenoir City, TN, and formerly of the Claxton Community, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017. Junior served in the Civilian Conservation Corps before joining the Navy. During World War II, Junior served our country in the US Navy as a cook aboard the USS Henderson. Most of their time was spent in the South Pacific. After the war he got a job with TVA as a laborer working with the trains off loading coal and in the office. Junior was a member of Rivers Oaks Baptist Church and his Local 818.
Junior is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Jessie Edsell; his parents Henry W. & Pearl Edsell; his sister Irene Boyd and his brother James Edsell.
He is survived by his daughter and caretaker, Patsy (Guy) Mounger; daughter Sharon Edsell; Grandchildren, Charles "Bill" (Jean) Mounger, Doug (Tammy) Rogers, and Patricia (Richie) Wilhite; 6 Great Grandchildren, Trisha (Aaron) White, Dexter (Whitney) Rogers, Dustin Rogers, Cody Wilhite, McKenzie Wilhite and Trey Wilhite; his brothers Fred Edsell and Ronald (Betty) Edsell; his sister Wanda Gaddis; and many other special family members and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday March 9, 2017 from 6-8 pm with funeral service at 8 pm at Woodhaven Funeral Home. Franklin Eppinette and Guy Mounger will co-officiate the service. Graveside will be Friday, March 10th at 2pm at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Edsell enjoyed his time at River Oaks and if anyone wondered what he thought, his response still echoes the hall, "I''m still dragging"
