Martin, Jackie Lafayette (Jack), age 66, of Powell, passed away Monday, March 10, 2008. He was a member of Mount Avenue Church of God where he played the bass guitar and sang. He was a veteran of the United States army. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, William Jack and Geneva Martin; brothers, Jerry, William and Jim Martin; sister, Frances. He is survived by his wife, Faye Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Britt and Tammy Martin of Friendsville; daughter, Laura Russell of Johnson City; step-son, Richard Morgan of Knoxville; granddaughters, Fawn, Brea, and Jade; great-granddaughter, Hayden; step-grandson, Treavor; sisters, Lorene Dyer of Strawberry Plains, Betty Hicks of Seymour, JoAnn Williams of Conyers, GA; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family would like to send special thanks to the staff and physicians of Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 13, from 6-8pm at Woodhaven Funeral Home with funeral services following at 8pm with Rev. Gary Stiles, officiating. Graveside service will be held Friday, March 14 at 10am at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are: Johnny Clark, Travis Holloway, Michael Orr, Jason Martin, Steve Maples, and Danny Elliott.
