James Leo Burgett, May 5, 1939- March 25, 2024. James Leo Burgett went home to be with his Lord March 25, 2024 at the age of 84. James was precededin death by his Wife; Barbara, Mother; Vera, Father; Lawrence, and Brothers; Gary and Raymond. He is survived by his two Sons; Richard and Bryan, Daughters in-law; Tracie and Dorothy, Grandchildren; Ashley and her husband Roy, James, Bridgette and her husband Jacob, Thomas, Cailyn and her husband Devon, and two Great grandchildren; Elara and Luna.
James was born in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from the Michigan Lutheren Seminary in 1957. Upon graduation he joined the Marines. After his service, he returned to Michigan and Married Barbara in 1962, they were married for 56 loving years. After Jim finished his education at Cleary College, his career carried him from working for his uncle Leo at Vico Products to Flint Ink as a forman then onto the Ford Motor Company where he stayed 32 years.
When they retired, Jim and Barb moved to Fairfield Glade, TN. where he sat on both the R.C.I. and Fairfield Glade Community Church boards. James loved to be outside in his yard or on the golf course. He and Barb also loved traveling to Hawaii and Florida with close friends and family. He volunteered 16 years at the Cumberland County Playhouse, ushering and working on the landscaping. He also volunteered as a steven minister helping others as they neared life's end.
James loved the Lord, his Family, and all his close Friends he is leaving behind. We will miss him very much.
