Mon was the Matriarch of the family, the glue that held us together, hosting all holidays; of which Christmas was her favorite. She always had a special gift for each child. She believed in God and forgiveness, never holding a grudges and always believed in the good in people. She was always giving to others.
She loved her sister, Gail, without fail. Gail was her closest and most valuable friend. They vacationed almost every summer with their husbands who were like brothers. The lake was her favorite place and the houseboat her home away from home. They were on Lake Norris every weekend until it was too cold.
She worked most of her adult life only taking off short periods to have her four children. She started as a switchboard operator and eventually earning higher positions at E&G Ortec in Oak Ridge from where she retired.
