Joan LaLonde Walton entered into Glory to be with her Lord and Savior on April 13, 2021 after a few year-long battle with dementia. She passed away at her earthly home, Prosperity Pointe Assisted Living, surrounded by loving family.
Joan was born on March 2, 1942 in Alpena, Michigan to Gladys Erma Bryning LaLonde and Clarence Harold LaLonde. She graduated from Alpena High School and shortly after, moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she worked at Systems Engineering. That is where she met the absolute love of her life, Bobby Walton (James Robert Walton, Jr.). They wed in 1969 and were happily married until Bobby's passing into his eternal home in 2017.
Joan loved her family deeply, including her husband, son, daughter, cousins, nephews, nieces, brother, sisters-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law and six beautiful grandchildren. She was an amazing friend and had many deep friendships, mostly through her direct sales businesses, which were her passion.
Joan was a member of the Space Coast Garden Club, Women's Club and a member of First Baptist Church of Merritt Island, Florida, where she served in the House of Hope Ministry for many years.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Harold LaLonde and Gladys Erma Bryning LaLonde of Ossineke, Michigan and her beloved husband, James Robert Walton, Jr. (Bobby) of Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Survivors include son Tripp Walton (Becki), grandson Jacob and granddaughter Emily of Rockledge, FL; daughter Shannon Kear (Brad), granddaughters Hailey, Holly and Ellie and grandson Jackson of Knoxville, TN, as well as brother Terry (Sandy) LaLonde of Ossineke, Michigan, 6 nieces, 2 nephews, many cousins, beloved aunts, and dear friends.
An Open House to honor Joan and offer condolences to the family will be on Saturday, April 24th from 10 am - 12 pm at 6345 Bowstring Trail, Knoxville, TN, 37920 and A Celebration of Life Service will be held on June 5th at 10AM at First Baptist Church of Merritt Island, Florida.
