John Henry Epling, age 98, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed from this life on September 9, 2016. He was born in Breaks, Virginia on May 4, 1918. He was the son of Jimmy James and Roma (Looney) Epling. He was a retired Chemical Operator, a former employee of Carbide & Carbon. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna (Colley) Epling. He is survived by his daughter, Mianna Joanie Epling, of Knoxville; brothers, Billy Jack Epling & Thomas Epling, both of Elkhorn City, Ky; sisters, Ruby Little of Flushing, Michigan & Betty Lou Matney of Elkhorn City, Ky; along with many nieces & nephews.
Services will be held September 13, 2016 at Woodhaven Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm with (nephew) Brother Danny Matney officiating. Internment will follow at the Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
