Smith, John C., age 95, of Powell, TN passed away November 2, 2014. John served in the U.S. Army for 5 years during WWII, a member of the Masons for 60 years, and member of the Elk Lodge for 43 years. He is preceded in death by his parents John P. and Furby Smith, Mary W. Smith and Ruth Mellon Smith. He is survived by his sons Roy Smith and John C. Smith Jr. and wife Candace, Bill Mellon and wife Linda; daughter Missy Burkhart and husband J. McDonald Burkhart; grandchildren Melinda and Dale Harris, Rachel and Chuck Garner, Rebecca and Brandon Johnson, Taylor Burkhart, Mac Burkhart, Amy and Steve Davis, Luke and Amanda Smith; great grandchildren Jackson and Maggie Harris, Beaux and Spruce Davis, Sofia Smith; special friends Jack and Shirley Price. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shoe Trust Fund at the Elk Lodge #160, 5600 Lonas Drive, Knoxville, TN 37909. Graveside Service will be Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Woodhaven Funeral Home 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell, TN 37849.
