Joy Irene Davis, age 80 of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 9, 2015. Mrs. Davis was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and especially great grandmother. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church for many years and loved her church family dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Virginia Short and son Ronald D. Davis. Mrs. Davis is survived by her loving husband, of almost 60 years, RD Davis; daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Jimmy Clevenger; grandchildren Aubrey Clevenger Wells, and Matthew Clevenger; great-grandchildren Landan Wells, Madison Clevenger and Bryson Clevenger; wonderful sister Mary Elizabeth Daugherty; brother Marvin Short Jr.; special friends Norma and Gordon Carringer; extended family Chris Wells and Kristi Clevenger, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 12pm-1pm with funeral service at 1pm with Pastor Dr. James Robertson officiating and soloist Bryan Yow. Services will be at Sharon Baptist Church, 7916 Pedigo Rd, Knoxville, TN 37938. Graveside service will be held at 2:30pm in Woodhaven Memorial Gardens, 160 Edgemoor Rd, Powell, TN 37849.
