Linda Joy Poynter, 75, of Knoxville, TN, was called to Glory Tuesday, October 13, 2015. After many years of service at St. Mary''s Hospital (Tennova), Linda retired to enjoy helping animals. Her favorite animals were cats. She was of the Baptist faith. When her daughters thinks of her mother the two phrases that jump out are; "Be Careful" and "I love you".
She was preceded in death by husband Hugh Gene Poynter.
Linda is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Steve Crumpley, her niece Kim Keith, and several other family members and friends. A special mention to Morris the Cat for keeping Linda company in her final years.
Receiving of family and friends will be on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with service at 1pm at Woodhaven Funeral Home, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell, TN 37849. Graveside service will follow the funeral service at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. Steve Heele will officiate.
