Reed, Lindsay Arthur, age 79, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Lindsay was retired from Robert Shaw in Knoxville. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and attended Midway Baptist Church in Clinton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Flora Reed; his first wife, Virginia Prater Reed; brothers, Tony and Johnny of Clinton, Gene of Oliver Springs, Mark of Vero Beach, Florida, and Raymond of Orlando, Florida; sisters, Lucille Mitchell of Detroit, Michigan, and Myrtle Williams of Clinton. Survivors include his second wife, Vivian Mavis Reed; son, James L Reed and wife Pat of Clinton; granddaughters, Ashley and Megan Reed of Clinton; sisters, Polly Zachary and husband William of Clinton; Mary Jenkins and husband Ralph of Vero Beach, Florida; stepdaughter, Judy Weaver and husband Vernon of Lake City; stepsons, Gary Coffey and wife Carol, William Coffey and wife Linda of Powell, all of Powell. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, step-grandchildren, and great-step-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at Woodhaven Funeral Home in Claxton with funeral service to follow at 7pm with Rev. Don Dunn, officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at 1pm at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens following a graveside service.
