Lola Jean Rosser, 89, of Powell, TN, born September 22, 1932, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 12, 2022.  She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Powell where she served the Lord faithfully for many years.  She worked as a bookkeeper for both Calvary Christian School and Temple Baptist Church and also served as the church organist at Calvary Baptist Church.

On August 28, 1950, she married her loving husband, Phillip Wayne, and they spent almost 63 wonderful years together.  They were both devoted parents, who faithfully raised their children in church and modeled their faith in every facet of life.  In addition to being wonderful wife and mother, she was a loving grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend to so many who miss her dearly.

Mrs. Rosser was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Wayne; her parents, Corbett & Nellie Vault; brother Ralph Vault; and daughter Susie Redmond.  Survivors include her children, David (Linda), John (Jennifer), Gary (Jean), and Gail (Mark) Treadwell; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and many friends.

She had a love for nature and a gift for hospitality, hosting many Pastors and missionaries in her home throughout the years.  She was also an avid Tennessee Vols fan, spending many weekends cheering them on with her loved ones by her side.

The family extends special thanks to caregiver Gayla Smith for her love and devotion to our beloved mother during the last several months.

The family will receive friends 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 17 ^th at the Curtis Hutson Center at Temple Baptist Church, 1700 West Beaver Creek Dr, Powell, TN 37849.  The memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM with Reverend Mike Perham and Zach McGill officiating.  Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday May 18 ^th at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell, TN 37849.   Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
