Saffles, Louise T., age 87 of Powell passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Heiskell. She was associated with the Enrichment of Uranium during the Manhattan Project. Preceded in death by her husband, Glen Thomas Saffles; daughter, Wanda Patt; sons-in-law, George Littleton and Macky Hogan; several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Saffles is survived by her sons, William "Tom" Saffles and wife Pat, Ron Saffles and wife Melanie; daughters, Glenda Littleton and Nancy Love; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Franklin "Sonny" Thompson and wife Sandy; dear friends, Harold & Ann Ogle and several other friends and church family. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, March 15, with funeral service to follow at 8:00 pm at Woodhaven Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Ronald Saffles with assistance from Rev. Larry Hewitt and Rev. Harold Ogle. Interment will be 11:00 am Wednesday, March 16, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Larry Hogan, Robert Hogan, Michael Patt, Junior Saffles, Matthew Saffles, Sammy Ball and Richard Harris.
