Lovisa Jane Shumate, of Karns, TN, passed away on the evening of April 25, 2015, with family by her side. She was 83 years old and of Assembles of God faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Enid Townsend; brothers Bobby, Carl Jr., Clifford, Fred and Dick. Lovisa is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Douglas E. Shumate; sons Douglas R & wife Paula, Carl, and Lester; daughters, Valerie and husband Billy Cansler, Lovisa and husband, Larry Pratt; brother, David Townsend; 21 grandchildren, Jason, Carl B, Kaia, Les, Jenni, Nikki, Christian, Terriann, Shawna, Trey, Amanda, Michelle, Brittany, Alisha, Larry, Zach; and 21 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Tuesday April 27, 2015 from 6-7 pm with funeral service to follow at 7 pm at Woodhaven Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 160 Edgemoor Rd, Powell, TN 37849.
