LULA BELLE (COOK) MELTON: Age 81, of Oak Ridge and formerly of Knoxville, passed away, Sunday morning, December 11, 2022 at her home.  Beloved wife, mother and Memaw, Lula is preceded in death by her parents, the late Floyd O. and Minnie (Miller) Cook and by her sister, Doby Jean Cook.

Lula was a member of Charity Baptist Church in Clinton and retired as an LPN having worked and taught at NHC and Rice College.

Lula is survived by her husband, Janes C. Melton, Sr., son, James Carl Melton, Jr. (Wendy June); grandson, Cory Jacob Melton, granddaughter, Brittany Jordan Melton, brother, Ronald Scott Cook, sister, Barbara Ellen McNeeley and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the chapel at Woodhaven Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 2-4pm.  The Reverend David Seales officiating.
