Crawley, Luther, age 78 of Powell, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2010 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Powell. A loving husband, father & Papaw, he loved fishing, hunting, sports and gardening and always had a helping hand for anyone in need. He retired from Johnson & Gaylon Construction in 1994 after 37 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Dora and one brother, Homer and brother-in-law, D.T. Hutson. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 Years, Ruth; daughter, Sharon Smith and her husband R. Larry Smith; grandchildren, Tyler and Mallory Smith; sisters, Loma Hutson and Thelma Perkins and her husband Earl; former sister-in-law, Marie; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Special thank you to the staff at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial gifts be made to First Baptist Church of Powell, 7706 Ewing Rd., Powell Tn. 37849. The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 3 pm on Monday, September 6, 2010 at Woodhaven Funeral Home in Powell with the funeral service to follow at 3 pm. Rev. Phil Jones will officiate. Graveside services will be directly after the service in Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
