Obituary

Dew, Lynda Jo Crawford, age 72, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014. She lost her battle with cancer but won the war to claim her rightful place in Heaven. She was a member of Covenant Life Church. She was born April 29, 1941, to Henry and Rose Crawford of Solway. Her life was filled with many special times including substitute teaching, working at the Museum of Appalachia and Ft. Sanders Gift Shop and volunteering for the past 15 years at The Love Kitchen where she made many special friends. Her most precious accomplishments in life were her marriage to Randy Dew to whom she was married 53 years and her 3 children and her 6 grandchildren. She was a wonderful loving wife, mom and Nana. She is preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Sam and Roxie Dew of Norris. Surviving is her husband, Randy Dew; her children, Steve and wife Ann of Heiskell, Valerie and husband Todd Ellis of Knoxville, Susan and husband Steve Mitchell of Seymour; her grandchildren, who are the light of her life, Kelli and husband Taylor, Zachary, Skylar, Cody, Connor and Faith; sister, Kathy Crawford Hicks; brothers, Marvin and wife Betty & Don Crawford; sister-in-law, Ann Stewart; brothers-in-law, Clyde and wife Lorene Dew, James and wife Juanita Dew, Donald and wife Judy Dew; special friends, Lowell & Sarah Allison, Jake & Becky Popejoy, as well as many other family and friends. The family will receive friends, Friday, March 14, at the Solway Church of God from 5-7. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 15 at 12:00 with a visitation from 10- 12 at Covenant Life Church, Lake City with Rev. Tony McAfee, Rev. Jake Popejoy and grandson, Cody Mitchell, officiating. Interment will follow at Norris Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be son, Steve Dew, sons-in-law, Todd Ellis, Steve Mitchell; grandsons, Zachary, Skylar, Taylor, Cody, Connor and Lowell Allison. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Daniel Ibach and Staff for their loving care and the many friends and family who has supported the family during this time. Memorials may be made to Covenant Life Church Building Fund, Lake City. Cancer took her life but it never took her joy!
