Obituary
Melissa (Mel) Dawn Higdon, 50, of Knoxville, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018. She graduated from Farragut High School in 1986.
Mel worshiped the Lord and was very active with Water Angel Ministries.
Melissa was proceeded in death by her parents Cpt. Leonard Thomas Higdon and Sandra Kaye Golden-Higdon; grandparents Charles and Maveline Golden , Leonard and Netty Higdon.
Melissa was survived by two sons, Christian Scott Underwood (Amanda) and Samuel Maliki Armstrong (Brijah); three grandchildren, Christian Jr., Cambdon and Catelynn Underwood; three brothers, Tommy and Danny Higdon and Scott Prince; a sister, Tracey Yoakum (Kenny); as well as aunts, uncles, and extended family and friends.
The family will be holding a Memorial service at a later date. Online condolences can be shared through this online guestbook. The family requests any donations in Melissa's memory be made to Water Angel Ministries, 907 University Ave., Knoxville, TN 37921 (865) 524-5194.
