Cheatham, Mildred Ruth (Minnie) Nicely, age 71, of Heiskell went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Minnie was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Young High School Class of 1956. She grew up in South Knoxville (Vestal) and attended Vestal Elementary. Minnie loved the Lord, her family, and friends with all her heart. She cherished her two sons and daughters-in-law and her three grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking Christmas Eve dinners and having her family and friends there. She liked cooking meals to take to her church. She loved getting together with her "Vestal" friends and attending Young High Reunions. She was a devoted Mom, grandmother and friend. She was always available to be of help to anyone. Preceded in death by her husband, Paul Cheatham; parents, John & Reba Nicely; brother, John (Junior) Nicely. She is survived by her devoted sons, Dana and wife Lisa Cheatham and Daniel and wife Jill Cheatham; three grandchildren, Jonah, Conner and Mercedes Cheatham; brothers, Larry Nicely and wife Tracy, B.A. Nicely; sister, Lois Cochran of Bryson City, NC; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Euida Shular and Susie Pittard. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Thursday, January 28, at Woodhaven Funeral Home Chapel with funeral service following at 7pm with Rev. Charlie Tindell, officiating. Interment will be Friday, January 29 at 10:00am at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are James Nicely, Ben Nicely, Bart Nicely, Virgil Cochran, Butch Gaddis, and Justin Bayless.
