Mina Lee Gunter Brady, 88, of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, December20, 2016, after a 17-year battle with Alzheimer''s disease. She was born on October 9, 1928 in Etowah, TN. After marrying her soul mate Ezra, they moved to Knoxville to build a home and start a family. Mina was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and devout Christian. She was a stay-at-home Mom who enjoyed listening to music, reading, studying the Bible, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
Mina was preceded in death by her parents, John Pearly Gunter and Lady Dean Hunt Gunter; her brother Earnest Gunter; and husband of 70 years, Ezra Brady.
She is survived by her son Nathan Brady and wife Sandra (Chig); daughter Naomi Durham and husband Richard; beloved granddaughter, Natalie Brady; step-granddaughter Alison James; several special nieces, Loy Molchan, Evonne Rucker, and ElaineWilcox; and her cousin Austin Duncan.
The family welcome family and friends to visit from 1:00PM -2:30PM on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Woodhaven Funeral Home, 160 Edgemoor Rd. Powell, TN 37849. Graveside will be held at 2:30PM at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank special friends and neighbors, Rick and Bonnie Cooper; also the Caris Healthcare staff, especially Christina, Amy, and Teresina who went above and beyond to make sure Mina was comfortable and serene.
