Polly A. Huber, of the Karns Community, passed away on December 1, 2025. Born on February 18, 1952, Polly was a proud graduate of Karns High School, Class of 1970. She continued her education at Harding University, earning her undergraduate degree, and later received her master's degree in social work from the University of Arkansas.
Polly devoted her life to serving children and families through her work in social services. She spent many years with Agape of North Alabama before becoming the Executive Director of East Tennessee Christian Services in Knoxville, where she helped place countless children in foster and adoptive homes. Polly was a faithful member of the Karns Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Huber Jr. and Irene B. Huber; her brother, Frank Huber III, her sister, Rebecca Jansen; and brother-in-law Larry York. Polly is survived by her sister, Carolyn York; niece, Cammie York; nephew, Frank "Chip" Huber IV (Jessica); niece, Darcy Huber; nephew, Bruce Jansen II; sister-in-law, Jean Huber; and brother-in-law, Bruce Jansen. She is also lovingly remembered by her "daughters," Cricket Stewart of Alabama and Linda Gavell of Sweden.
Polly was unconditionally supported by her dear friends Teresa Clark, Vicki Coker, Vicky Curtis, and Loy Molchan, whose devotion and care brought her comfort and peace.
For the past eight years, Polly resided at NHC in Oak Ridge. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff for their exceptional care and kindness.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Karns Church of Christ beginning at 4:00 p.m., followed by a short service at 4:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers please donate to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies in Polly's memory.
