Rev. Raymond E. Taylor Jr., age 74, of Clinton, passed away Saturday, December 06, 2014. He was born in Washington DC in 1940. Rev Taylor was a graduate of Carson Newman College in Jefferson City , TN. He was a member and Music Minister at First Baptist Church in Clinton, TN. Rev Taylor is a former member, Youth and Music Minister for Baldwin Baptist Church in Baldwin, MO, First Baptist Church in Marion, IL, St Louis Missouri County, and Elyria Baptist Church in Elyria, OH. He also formerly served as Music Minister for South Clinton Baptist Church in Clinton, TN, and Br Vocational Music Minister at Fort Hill Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. Rev Taylor is preceded in death by his parents Raymond E Taylor Sr & Nadine Pratt Taylor; In laws James H Shoemaker Sr & Audrey Douglas Shoemaker and brother in law James H Shoemaker Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Gloria Shoemaker Taylor; daughter Tina Noel Taylor; grandchildren Albert J Roach & Tiffany F Roach (father Albert Roach Jr); children in Christ Bryan and Amy Rigney; grandchildren in Christ Ronald and Rena Rigney; sisters Nancy Snyder husband Duke & Susan Miller husband Eric; brother in law Wesley Shoemaker wife Trish; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Service will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Clinton, 225 N Main Street, Clinton, TN 37716 ,visitation 5:30pm-7:30pm with the funeral service to follow at 7:30pm. Internment will be held at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens 160 Edgemoor Rd, Powell, TN 37849 Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 11:00am.
