Mr. Roy Lee Matthews, age 69, passed away Friday, March 13, 2020 at his residence. He was the son of Claude Matthews and Fern Jenkins Johnston.  He was an Army Veteran and a member of Zion Baptist Church in Claxton. Roy enjoyed computers and doing the sound and video at church.  He was a race boat crew member and a jack of all trades. He is preceded in death by his mother Fern Jenkins Johnston, two fathers Johnny Johnston and Claude Matthews, and his sister Dee Snider.

He is survived by his wife Jolene Matthews, son Trenton Matthews, son Javin (Amy) Matthews, grandchildren Elijah Matthews and Harrison Matthews, brothers Randy (Tina) Johnston, Rudy (Debbie) Johnston, sister Pat (Matt) Johnson, and many special friends.

Graveside services will be Monday, March 16, 2020,  at 1 PM, in Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
