Ruby Wells Sayne, 84, of Powell, TN, went to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness Thursday, June 1, 2017; just two days shy of her 85th birthday. Ruby was a beloved Moma to her four daughters and sons-in-laws, which she considered her sons; and Granny to her eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was an active member of Beaverdale Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing. She loved her church family especially close friend, Juanita Webb. Ruby was proud of her Appalachian heritage and enjoyed quilting, canning, and baking. None could compare to her apple & pear butter or buttermilk pie.
Ruby was welcomed Home by her mother Cora Foust; her first husband and father to her four daughters, Looney "Pete" Wells; second husband Cecil Sayne; son-in-law Oliver Wampler; and granddaughter Audra Kay Wampler.
Ruby is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Sheila & Richard Pollard, Victoria & Niles Zimmerman, Joan Wampler, and Phyllis "Phyl" & Jackson Green; her grandchildren Jason Pollard, Bill & Jenny Zimmerman, Autumn (Wampler) Northern, Tyler and Ashton Green, and Abby Jo (Green) Godsey; great-grandchildren Justin & Matt Zimmerman, Madison & Mason Northern, Tyson & Eli Green, and Jackson Godsey.
The family will receive friends Monday , June 5, 2017 at 6-8 pm with a Funeral Service at 8pm at Woodhaven Funeral Home, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell, TN 37849, where Pastor Brent Turnmire & Preacher Randy Webb will officiate. Graveside will be Tuesday morning, June 6, 2017 at 11am at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are Ruby''s sons-in-laws and grandsons. Woodhaven Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens are honored to serve the family.
