Bruce, Ruth Hopkins, age 82 of Karns formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014. Ruth was a member of Royce Baptist Church of Oak Ridge and retired from Oak Ridge Schools after 26 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Jeanette Hopkins; son Edward "Eddie" Bruce; sister Ruby Roskelly; brothers Ronnie and Clyde Hopkins. Ruth is survived by her loving husband E.F. Bruce of Karns; son Charles Bruce and wife Karen of Knoxville; daughters Jill Bruce of Knoxville, Jan Phillips and husband Mickey of Lake City; grandchildren Christopher Thomas, Victoria Chesney and Parker Fulton. Visitation will be from 6:00pm til 7:30pm with Funeral to follow at 7:30pm Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Royce Baptist Church, 131 S. LaSalle Rd, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. Internment will be held at 11:00am Monday, June 23, 2014 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park, 1501 Bethal Valley Rd, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. Officiant will be Rev. Mike Harbin.
