Ruth Louise Newman, age 81, of Powell, Tn., passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021.  Ruth was born in Heiskell, Tn., and was the daughter of the late John and Bertha Cagley Franse.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years Roy Pruitt, husband Hank Newman, son Jeffrey, and 5 siblings.

Ruth is survived by her children Carolyn (Curtis) Simcox, Wayne (Rebecca) Pruitt, Lisa (Andy) Fisher, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 sister, 2 sister in laws, 1 brother in law, and step son Kelly (Tina) Newman.

A special thanks to UT Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Mrs. Newman and her family during her illness.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 2:00 PM in Woodhaven  Memorial  Gardens. The family requests that everyone please wear a mask in the cemetery.
