Obituary

Sam passed away peacefully September 29 th , 2019 at 7A.M. at NHC in Oak Ridge after a long battle with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.  Sam was an avid member of the recovery community and helped many lives during his 37 years clean.  Before being diagnosed with both Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, he worked at Hope of East Tennessee in Oak Ridge, TN doing what he loved to do.  He was a bit of a workaholic, but he always seemed to make time for his family and friends.  He had a huge heart and could not turn anyone away that asked for help.  He enjoyed watching Law and Order, eating with friends, going to the tanning bed, and attending his recovery meetings.  He had a dry sense of humor and was a ladies man.  He will be truly missed by the ones closest to him, along with his loving daughter Regina Healey.

He is preceded in death by his parents Tolbert Samuel Healey and Hazel Matilda Peterson Healey, former wife and friend Debbie Healey, sisters Sally and Sandy, and a brother Gene.

Sam is survived by his daughter Regina Healey, sister Sue (Dan) Riggle, brothers Doug and Don, daughter Michelle, son Sammy Healey, his beloved dog Snoop, grandchildren Daniel, Christopher, and Raymond, nieces Brandi, Stephanie, Jessica, and Brooklyn, and extended family of Bill W. and Jimmy K.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, October 5 th at the Serenity Club in Oak Ridge.  The address is 170 N. Jefferson Circle, Oak Ridge, TN.  It will be from 3pm-6pm.  We will do pot luck style, so bring a covered dish.  Bring your best stories and memories to share with all.

Woodhaven Funeral Home is honored to serve the Sam Healey family.
