Carter, Shirley M., age 71 of Powell passed away on Friday, October 24, 2008 at St Mary''s Medical Center. She was a member of the Springhill Baptist Church, she loved to read and work crosswords, enjoyed crafts and especially talking with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl Hudson McCroskey and Gladys Needham McCroskey, brother, Louie McCroskey & sister-in-law Jodie McCroskey, neice Lisa McCroskey and nephew Jeffrey McCroskey. Shirly is survived by her husband, Troy Arliss Carter, brothers, Robert C. McCroskey, Paul W. McCroskey and Skip McCroskey and wife Sandra. Sister, June McCroskey. Brother & sister-in-law Ron and Brenda Carter. A very special friend, Stella Muse. Several Neices and Nephews, great nieces & nephews and many friends who will miss her dearly. The family will receive friends from 6pm til 8pm on Monday, October 27, 2008 at Woodhaven Funeral Home in Powell. Graveside services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Tuesday at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 11:45am. Rev. Dexter Merritt will officiate.
