THOMAS MILTON BUCHANAN (Mickey), age 84, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 5:20 a.m. at Ben Atchley Tennessee State Veteran's Home. He was born in Roanoke, VA on August 19, 1938, the son of Carl and Mary (McMichael) Buchanan. He met his wife of 58 years, Renee (Pasquier), in 1964 at the military golf course where she worked while he was stationed in France with the US Army.

He was a graduate of Southern Ohio College and a long-time resident of Fairfield, OH and Knoxville, TN. In his younger years, he was an avid bowler and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers and later in life fishing with his grandkids. He had a lifelong interest in radios, which he specialized in the army and later obtained his ham radio license. He was also an accomplished card player, who enjoyed bridge and pinochle. Tom retired from the US Army after 20 years of service, including tours in Vietnam, Korea, and throughout Europe. He then went on to a second career with the United States Post Office.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary, and siblings, Jack, Nancy, Frank, Marilyn 'Sis', Pete, and Ronnie.   He is survived by his wife, Renee; his sons, Jack (Sharon) and Rick (Sherri); his brother Gary, and sister Debbie; grandsons, Jason, Aaron, John and Jack; and by his faithful dog, Lucy.
