Thomas Joseph Welch, 79, of Knoxville, TN passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Born February 21, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harold & Alice (Kelly) Welch.   In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his sisters, Irene Carpenter, La Verne McFarland, Mary Ann Elder, and Patricia Allen; and his brother, Harold Welch.

Tom is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lois Welch; his children, Gary (Janet) Welch, Thomas (Geena) Welch, and Karen (Scott) Tuck; his grandchildren, Lauren, Eric, Kendall, Kenzie, Reagan, and Emma; his great-grandchildren, Claire and Evan;two sisters Helen Carpenter and Kathleen (Paul) Sarina; plus other family and friends.

Tom retired after a long career in the insurance industry. He was an avid reader, enjoyed playing golf, going fishing and hunting, and especially loved spending time with his family.

The family will received friends from 4:00 PM-5:30 PM on Monday, February 28, 2022 with a short service at 5:30 PM at Woodhaven Funeral Home, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell, TN 37849.  There will be no graveside service.
