Tommy R. Shropshire (TK) 76, of Powell, went home to be with the Lord after a four-year bout with Alzheimer's. Tommy's greatest interests were traveling, spending time with his grandchildren, boating on Norris Lake, and attending One Life Church. Tommy served in the Air Force in Vietnam war and was proud of his service. He retired from TVA after 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Eva Rhodes and stepfather Alvin Rhodes. He is survived by his wife Becky, who was the love of his life, son; Chris Bowles, grandchildren; Caleb and Charlotte Bowles, as well as brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews who loved him as their own papaw.
The family wishes to express their special thanks to the staff at Ben Atchley Veterans Home for their kindness and special care.
Family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00pm Friday at Woodhaven Funeral Home with memorial service following with Mark Kidd officiating. Family will gather Saturday at 11:00am for an internment service at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Powell.
